Girls love surfing & we’re here to stay!
Seeing girls out in the line up is not just a fad or a novelty, but a regular part of surfing culture, across Australia & around the world. We are seeing females being drawn to surfing in huge numbers for their love of the ocean, the thrill of the ride & just because it’s flat out fun! From the girl surfing for the first time in the white water, cheering with excitement as she catches her first wave; through to the seasoned professional competing around the world…….it’s unanimous. Girls love surfing & we’re here to stay!
Here at CSA, we aim to provide an environment where girls feel comfortable, accepted & celebrated. Our heart is to encourage girls in all levels of surfing and in LIFE! We believe that women & girls, of all ages, makes & models, are created with a uniquely wonderful fingerprint on their soul, that makes them extraordinary. We want to inspire girls to be all they were born to be & live their dreams. Whether you’re a gromette, a student, a mum, a SINK (single income no kids), young, or just young at heart…..we welcome you to CSA!
Who are we?
We are not a separate entity from CSA, but part of the dynamic fabric that makes up this great movement! There are approximately 40 CSA groups that meet across Australia, of which girls & guys of all ages & backgrounds participate in. From the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Coffs, Crescent Head, Newcastle, Central Coast, Sydney, NSW South Coast, Melbourne, Ocean Grove, Victor Harbor, Midcoast, Tassy, Albany, South West Coast, Perth…..we’re all over the place! Girls are involved in most of these groups & are a valued part of these communities.
If we could sum up a typical CS girl, we would describe them as super fun, casual & relaxed, always up for a laugh, always up for a surf, love adventure, love hanging out together & always ready to sing & bust out some dance moves if the opportunity presents itself! We are ultra supportive of each other & cherish the diversity found within each individual. But most of all, we believe there is depth & purpose to life, through Jesus…..and we aim to live that out if full living colour!
What do we do?
Girls are always welcome to participate in any of the regular regional events. We have specific girls events within regions, such as surf days, camps, bible studies, prayer times etc; which are aimed to build identity & confidence for females. We also have the ‘CSA Girls’ newsletter that comes out bi-monthly, keeping everyone up to date what is going on around our great land of Oz. We also get involved with our communities by helping out at surf competitions, partnering with other like minded organisations to run special events (movie premiers, surf camps, training schools) & running charity events to support community and compassionate causes.
